Today we headed to Andre's little brother's birthday party. 21 doesn't mean the same thing here as it does in the US, but it is still a milestone, I think. Congrats to Kay!
His parents had a dinner for him. I of course took my own food, but boy did what they have look good. I also got to play around with his iPad. Pretty cool! I will never buy one, but it was cool to play with.
Tomorrow, I think we are heading to the Autostadt for some kind of laser and water show. Monday, we are going to Braunschweig and meeting Andre's sister for lunch. Gluten free pizza. Woot again!
Jillian Michaels is trying to kill me. I am sure of it. Well, at least she is trying to blow out my knee again. I made it through two day#s of 30 day Shred before my knee said no more. Of course, I left my knee brace at home, so there will be no more shredding for me until I get home. Other than two days of shredding, I was basically a sloth this week. Maybe that is why I only lost .2kg? I am ok with .2kg, though. I will take a tiny loss over a gain any day. as of right now I am 6 1/2 lbs lighter than when I got here, and that is awesome! Bones that I didn't know existed are suddenly showing themselves.
Here is a funny -
Today at the birthday party when I was playing around with the above mentioned iPad, I went to my flickr page to find all of the funny pictures of Andre to show his brother and sister. The first picture on my flickr page is one Andre took of 6'3" Christian squatting down to my 5'3" level, and when I saw the picture the first thing that popped in to my head was "Man, I look too skinny there." Riiight.

After looking at the picture for more than a split second, it is obvious that it is the (bad) angle, the (deep) collar of my shirt and the (strange) tan line all coming together in some making me think I am thinner than I am bad joke, but for a split second I really thought that. As you can see, it is just a bad picture overall, but not as bad as if I still weighed 262, I think. :)
Ok, so I got exactly 1 answer to my "Quick! You need to raise $1k in 1 month. How do you do it?" question. Hmmm... no more ideas? I got a bunch on a message board I posted the same challenge on, so tomorrow I will post them here. They were pretty good.
The reason I picked $1000 as my magic number is because that it what Dave Ramsey recommends as a baby emergency fund, and over and over you hear "But I can't save $1000!" on his show and on Dave Ramsey massage boards. I have decided that I am going to challenge myself to try to save $1000 in September. Well, I might pick a smaller number, because I will just be getting home August 27th, but I will be doing something. Anyone want to join me?

been trying FOR YEARS to get a savings account where something doesn't come up and we have to use it....swore I was going to do it this year LOL but hasn't happened..I always put some away from income tax time but some emergency always comes up and gobbles it up.I am putting away in a christmas club account-want to have like double what I had last year ($300) but so far I think it's like $150--gotta get busy....it'll be here before we know it....maybe in jan I can do better-putting away in both xmas club and savings....
OMG!! First of all, I've never seen you before so it's REALLY nice to see what you look like.
Second, OMG, you look fabulous and like you could be yours son's sister! That's what you should tell people!!!
You are doing so awesome on the weight loss. You are really inspiring!
Julie - I have most of Dave Ramsey's books if you would like to borrow them. They really opened our eyes!
Christine - Hahaha! you are such a good fibber and I love ya for it!
It is funny, though. I regularly have people tell me I don't look old enough to be any of my boys mom. I hope the good genes hold out, though. My mom is 63 and doesn't look it and my grandma didn't look "old" until she was well in to her 80s. Keeping my fingers crossed!
